The ABSOLUTE Final Phase

As many of you know, we were on the verge of our very first contest before TI went down. The votes were so spread out for the movie titles that I didn't feel comfortable in taking a winner from those votes. I have narrowed down the choices to the following...

I know that I eliminated ten, and that's a lot, but I don't want to have to do another elimination...so I'm cutting right to the chase.

Voting will end on May 7. On May 14, the first night of the finale, the winner and prize will be announced. As before, the prize will be shipped out ahead of time and the winner will know about a day or two before the rest of the members.

How Do I Live Without You?

We make replacements that aren't as good as the real thing! *sigh* For those of you just now getting the memo...our other board is doing phenomenal! (compared to what we expected) But it is my great pleasure to inform you that TI will be back up either tomorrow or Monday. This coming from one of the admins, Mike. That just makes me so insanely happy. I might just do a Marshie. Hehe. So yes...yay for the return of TI!

A Little History (in case you were curious)

So I know that some of you looking at this Fan Club are going, WTF!? But really, we're very nice people. The most imporant people you ever need to know about at this F/C are Chars (Chasing Cars), Lauren (Oh So Cliché), Jackie (Thursday Morning), and Mads (Say Anything). So we're really not that imporant, but we're the people you come to with your problems :)

So I bet you're wondering why is this F/C so different than the others. Well for one we support Meredith & Derek! But for real, there's over 100 members (last time I checked) that are scattered all across the globe. Chars, the original founder/creator, lives in Australia so for people in the US (where a majority of the members are located, I can assume) the time difference is pretty big! But to the nitty gritty...we're totally and insanely obsessed with the Meredith/Derek relationship (MerDer from here on out). We call ourselves MerDers and we are definitely proud of pretty much everything relating to Meredith, Derek, and MerDer.

About February 2006 was when things got really out of hand. You see at The Incision (TI), once a thread has 200 posts, a new thread has to be started. We were on about Thread #9 (or #19...I can't remember) when I (Lauren) flung myself into the mess. There were a lot of us that joined up/became active right around the same time and pretty much the MerDers went nuts. Jackie, Mads, and I in particular were constantly on and were -- a lot of the time -- the reason for a thread running out :P So we approached Chars about a back-up system for when she was not online (usually in the afternoon for Americans, when a lot of us are on). The back-up system was set up (aka the chain of command from earlier) and so everything else started getting organized from there on out.

The many galleries on TI contain a wide array of stuff and sometimes it's hard to find what you're looking for. We tried to simplify it by making our own MerDer banner exchange. Anyone can upload stuff to it and anyone can get the links to use the banners. Same thing goes with the avatar exchange. There aren't as many avatars though b/c we don't use av's that much on TI. I'm using so much abbreviation that it's making my head hurt.

So the mottos? I can't recall where they came from originally. They're in chronological order though so you can see what the very first three are! Yes, the original three MerDer Mottos. *sigh* I did this out of sheer boredom, but really, if you're reading this...I was totally a lurker and didn't even know what I should do when I first joined TI. Now look at me, I pretty much never get off of the darn thing and I'm an Attending at the biggest F/C on the board! I hope this helped some of you understand the F/C better, encouraged you to join the F/C, or just made you laugh :)
